George Y. Iwasa, O.D started the practice on February 2, 1953 in a little office on Third Avenue in Payette, Idaho. In October of 1981, Dr. George incorporated and moved next door to a larger building to officially become Payette Vision Clinic, P.A. In September of 1992, Daniel E. Iwasa, O.D. (Dr. George’s number four of five sons), bought the practice. On March 1, 2008, the office moved to Fruitland, Idaho, Iwasa Eye Center, P.A.

Iwasa Eye Center

At Iwasa Eye Center our goal is to serve the whole family with complete eye examinations including specialized contact lenses for astigmatism, pre and post operative care for refractive surgery, cataract surgery and so much more! We treat and manage a wide variety of eye diseases including glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetes, and removal of foreign bodies from the eye. Our staff is friendly, personable, and strives to go above and beyond for all your eye care needs!

Our Team

Dr. Dan Iwasa

Dr. Dan was born and raised in Payette Idaho. He is married to Yvonne Iwasa and has three children, Carly, Makoto, and Chloe. Dan attended Southern California College of Optometry in 1992 and moved back to Payette and bought the current practice from his father.

Dr. Wes Porter

Dr J. Wesley Porter (Wes) was born and raised in Utah. He is married to his wife Beth and they have four children. Wes served a mission for his church in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where he learned to speak Spanish. Wes attended Rosenberg School of Optometry in San Antonio and graduated in 2018. He served communities in Texas ,as well as Eastern Idaho, before joining Iwasa Eye Center in October of 2020. He has loved serving and getting to know this community.
